WZZM reports:
The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department is warning of a data breach potentially affecting dozens of customers. Investigators say thieves hacked into the Carson Village Market server and accessed customers’ credit and debit card information.
Multiple people have called police to report their credit card numbers were used to make purchases in southeast Michigan and the Detroit area.

An updated notice on the market’s Facebook page posted 6 hours ago reads:
If you have made purchases with your debit or credit card @ our store within the last couple of weeks I strongly urge you to contact your banks and make sure they are watching your purchasing especially in the Detroit area in fact at this point in may be in your best interest to apply for a new card. We have nailed down the issue and I am not worried about transactions going forward my concern is lingering transactions that are still out there that may still surface. Again if you have any questions please call me I am more than glad to answer any questions that I can as we put this horrible ordeal behind us. Thank you for your patience through these difficult times. Adam
