Another French hospital hit by cyberattack

Posted on April 8, 2021 by Dissent

Mathieu Ferri reports (translation):

The phone no longer answers at the Saint-Gaudens hospital (Haute-Garonne). According to information from France Bleu Occitanie, the Comminges-Pyrénées hospital center has been the victim of a computer attack since around 4 a.m. , this Thursday, April 8, which greatly disrupts its operation.

A ransom demand has been presented, explains the director of the hospital, Jean-Marc Viguier. The administration explains having ” blocked all computer servers to protect data and contamination” and thus prevent the aspiration of patient data.

Read more on France Bleu. This was apparently their second cyberattack in the past few weeks.

As DataBreaches.net has reported, a number of French hospitals and medically-related entities have been hit by ransomware recently. In at least some of the attacks, DoppelPaymer ransomware was involved.
