  • Charles McLaurin was sentenced to nearly eight years in prison for ID theft, a month after he slipped away during a break at his initial sentencing hearing. More.
  • In the UK, the case against PC Anna Wong of the Lothian and Borders Force has been continued again without plea at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. Wong is accused of 54 charges of breaching the Data Protection Act by accessing the force’s info system between 2006 and 2007. More.
  • Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a husband and wife who have been preying on customers of Sacramento-area 24 Hour Fitness centers and stealing their identities. So far, deputies have identified 40+ victims and there could be more. More.
  • Hollis Emily Puccinelli and Tahirah Sephia Preston were charged with identity-theft, receiving stolen property, fraudulent use of an access card, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a smoking device and theft of mail from about 100 people; 20 of whom had their identities used for fraudulent purposes.
