BR: Cyber attack on the CPTrans website and the Educa em Casa platform
The following is a translation of a press release issued March 5 by Petrópolis:
The Petrópolis City Hall reports that the web pages of CPTrans [Companhia Petropolitana de Trânsito e Transportes] and the Educa em Casa platform, which serves students from the municipal network remotely, were the target of a cyber attack by a hacker. The CPTrans website suffered the attack on Thursday (04.03) and Educa em Casa was attacked today (05.03) in the morning. The municipality clarifies that all data is in the public domain and there has been no change in any content on both pages.
The municipal government also informs the population that the attack promoted on its website did not affect any information or internal data from the city hall itself, as they are stored on separate servers, with no external access occurring. The Information Technology Department (DETEC) already promotes the repair on the Educa em Casa platform and the CPTrans website already works normally. All security measures were taken to avoid actions external to the electronic content of the City Hall website.
