CA: Patient records taken from Santa Cruz pot referral office

Burglars stole client records, a suitcase and two bags of cookies from a medicinal marijuana referral office on the 500 block of River Street late Monday or early Tuesday, Santa Cruz police reported.

Safe Harbor Med Evaluations staff reported the theft around noon Tuesday. Burglars stole a computer hard drive that contained a client database, including social security numbers, ID numbers and other sensitive information, police reported.

    I would think they wanted the numbers to get pot more than to get credit. These are people permitted to have it legally. A drug dealer’s dream or a druggie dream?
