Coincidence or….?

A glance at NYS’s Consumer Protection breach log for May shows that the state received 12 notifications yesterday — and all of them were hacking incidents. Twelve received in one day? Only one of them has been reported on this site previously (Monoprice). The numbers indicate the reported number of NYS residents affected:

05/06/2010 – Kitchen Universe – Hacking – 57
05/06/2010 – Lin Gui – Hacking – 39
05/06/2010 – Monoprice – Hacking – 109
05/06/2010 – Riverside Hotel & Restaurant – Hacking – 22
05/06/2010 – Shoeflix – Hacking – 1
05/06/2010 – Sixth Avenue Electronics – Hacking – 328
