Cyta launches insider data theft probe

Posted on March 30, 2016 by Dissent

The Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta) has launched an internal inquiry after suspicions that personal data belonging to employees of the organisation may have been stolen.

The probe – which will be paneled by three people – has been ordered by the Cyta board following a recommendation from organisation bosses.

The probe will be aimed primarily against high-ranking officials at Cyta, which Phileleftheros newspaper claims focuses mainly against a former data systems officer who is currently working in the private sector.
