Developing: RaidForums users db leaked

Posted on May 29, 2023 by Dissent

In what is likely making some people a bit nervous, the users database for  RaidForums has been leaked on a forum.

The database appears to date to September 2020. It contains entries for the site owner, Omnipotent, as well as moderators, and well-known users. DataBreaches spot-checked the database and found individuals with their known usernames, email addresses, and jabber IDs.

The administrator who posted  the leak noted that “ps: there are some removed users.” They did not clarify whether they had removed users from the database or others had.

There is no indication as yet as to how this database was leaked, who first leaked it, or why it is first being publicly leaked now. The popular hacking forum was seized in 2022, but the owner was reportedly arrested months before the seizure was made public.

I’ve been trying to reach you about this, but it seems you’ve blocked me everywhere- please reach out to me. I’m sorry for sexually harassing you online, I understand the comments I made were not appropriate. I’ll keep the conversation strictly professional this time.

Who the heck is this? It’s definitely NOT Troia.

It’s gonna be a longggg springtime.
And what will the birdies do then- the poor things?
They’ll fly high in the sky just to keep their feet dry
And tuck their heads under their wings, the poor things.

It’s gonna be a longggg summer.
And what will the birdies do then, the poor things?
They’ll fly to the pool just to keep themselves cool.
And tuck their heads under their wings, the poor things.

It’s gonna be a longggg autumn.
And what will the birdies do then, the poor things?
They’ll fly to the south, with a worm in their mouth.
And tuck their heads under their wings, the poor things.

It’s gonna be a longggg winter.
And what will the birdies do then, the poor things?
They’ll fly to the barn, just to keep themselves warm.
And tuck their heads under their wings, the poor things.

[To give credit where it’s due: “It’s Going to be a Long Winter” by Kathy Reid-Naiman.]

Your song was a perfect choice with the image of birds tucking their heads under wings. I find it a bit mind-boggling that there are a lot of folks who STILL want to re-use their usernames from RAIDForums and BreachForums because of their “rep,” despite the obvious risks.

And your choice of a url for yourself was also perfect. 🙂
