FL: Records stolen from Gressler Clinic

Ryan E. Little reports:

Documents containing personal information from about 1,400 patients were stolen from Gessler Clinic in May, the clinic announced Tuesday.

The clinic has been working with police since the May 3 disappearance of the documents and began notifying affected patients by mail this week.

The stolen documents, which include Social Security numbers and diagnosis and treatment information, were taken from the orthopedic practice at Gessler Clinic, 101 Ave. D N.W., Winter Haven.

The stolen documents — called charge tickets — contain patient addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, diagnosis and treatment information, insurance information, and Social Security numbers.
