The attack began in early July, 2020 but was not detected until September 26, 2020 when ransomware was detected. Over the next 10 months, the firm’s understanding of the scope of the breach changed, as reflected in the notifications it sent to the Maine Attorney General’s Office. On June 30, 2021, they reported a total of 7,376 people were impacted. On July 16, they  updated their report to indicate that 212,721 people, total, had been impacted.  On July 21, 2021, they revised that number again, now reporting 722,325 impacted.
