Kuurne Municipal Services Down Due to Cryptomining Attack

WTV in Belgium reports:

“The municipality discovered a virus in its network on Tuesday, November 17. It concerns a ‘wannamine’, an attack in which the intention is not to ask for money but to use the power of our network to acquire crypto coins”, says Kuurne in a press release.

“After the determination, all devices were taken offline and a message was distributed that our services are no longer available. We are currently receiving help to investigate the damage and restart our services.”
