Liverpool Community College students’s data on internet

The personal data of up to 300 former students of Liverpool Community College was discovered on the internet.

The information, which included names, dates of birth and student IDs, was discovered during the course of an ongoing ECHO investigation.

It followed accusations the college’s IT department claimed funding for entire courses which did not run and awarded qualifications to students who did not complete them – allegations the college said it “strongly refutes”.

Read more on The Liverpool Echo. Two people whose data showed up on the web have both claimed that either they never took or completed the courses the records show they took or completed, so the web exposure, of as yet unknown length, may be only part of the college’s problems.
