Medical records for more than 600 patients stolen from Moran Eye Center

Paighten Harkins reports:

Someone stole a laptop computer and a hard drive from the John A. Moran Eye Center, compromising the medical records of more than 600 of its patients.

The theft occurred April 3, when someone took the laptop from locked storage at the center, 65 Mario Capecci Drive, according to a news release. The center first announced the robbery Saturday, after identifying the number of patients impacted and the information taken, spokeswoman Elizabeth Neff said.
