NZ: Ministry for Children forced to apologize after social worker tries to access private medical records

TVNZ reports:

The Ministry for Children, Oranga Tamariki, has been forced to apologise to a foster family after one of its social workers tried to access their private medical records.

The incident occurred after a foster child tried to attack them with a knife. However, the family says the attempted privacy breach has been even more traumatic.

Think about that.  The family was more traumatized by their medical privacy being violated than a foster child trying to attack them with a knife.  That speaks volumes about how important medical privacy is to people.
