Some Salita’s Restaurant customers in Durant, Oklahoma reportedly became victims of credit card fraud after the restaurant’s payment processing system was breached.
According to The Durant Democrat, customers who ate at Salita’s between July 1st and July 27th are most affected. There doesn’t seem to be any statement on the restaurant’s web site, but the owner and her daughter have reportedly been calling customers individually to notify them of the breach and they have posted a notice on their Facebook page:
Attention Valued Customers:
It was brought to our attention that an unauthorized outside source had gained access to our credit card processor. We have corrected all of these issues, but to err on the side of caution, we are asking that each customer check their credit cards for unauthorized charges. We believe the dates of the breach range from July 1st to July 27th.
We value your business and ask that you please verify that your credit card was not compromised during these dates.
The authorities are working with us to help find the responsible parties and we would ask that if you do find that your account has unknown charges that you notify your banking institution.
We would like to assure everyone that the issue has been corrected with our credit card processing system. We will always ensure the safety of our customers when dealing with your private and confidential information. We are deeply saddened by this, and are truly sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused our customers.
