Popular Texas restaurant under fire after dumpster discovery

It was a startling surprise for neighbors who found papers containing social security numbers, bank accounts, and other personal information blowing across their yards over the weekend.

We did some digging, and found out the papers came from inside a dumpster at a popular nearby restaurant.

Frances Roberts lives across the street from Don Joses Mexican Restaurant in Wichita Falls.

Roberts said she got in touch with the restaurant immediately.

“I told them that it was very careless and they responded back that they didn’t appreciate me calling them careless and that they didn’t do this purposefully or viciously,” Roberts said.

They may not have done it viciously, but why didn’t they securely shred the documents? Doesn’t Texas law require it?
