Privacy commissioner rules Medicentres failed to protect info on stolen laptop

Canadian Press reports:

Alberta’s privacy commissioner has determined that a chain of medical clinics failed to protect patients’ health information that was on a stolen laptop.

The commissioner’s report also says the company, although it technically followed response rules, took too long to announce the privacy breach.

Which is exactly what I said at the time.
