SANSA breach: International hacker group claims responsibility for Space Agency leak

Posted on September 9, 2021 by Dissent

Storm Simpson reports:

A new internet hacking group has claimed responsibility for a data breach at the South African National Space Agency (SANSA). The group, CoomingProject, emerged recently and according to claims made on its website, it has a list of victims across the world.

Read more on The South African.  SANSA confirmed the breach after some data began showing up online.

As of the time of this posting, the SANSA data download no longer appears on Cooming Project’s site.  But on Sunday, a 16 TB dump showed up on a popular Russian-language forum, where threat actors known as GhostSec claimed responsibility for the attack and dump.

GhostSec listed SANSA data, claiming “South African Space Agency Hacked and Destroyed by GhostSec”
