Slow learning curve, Sunday edition

Some breach types are so well-known and easy to prevent that it’s hard to understand why they keep occurring.

In December, the  National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) – International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) sent out its generic summary of benefits coverage  to Family Medical Care Plan enrollees. No individual-specific medical information or details were included, but the mailings exposed members’ Social Security numbers on the envelopes.

Really. Does no one spot-check before a mailing goes out?
