In a letter dated August 13, the Research Foundation for the State University of New York disclosed that there had been unauthorized activity on its network between May 22, 2021 and July 9, 2021. The breach was discovered on July 14, and reportedly involved names and Social Security numbers. They do not mention receiving any ransom note.
The foundation is notifying 46,734 individuals, but the letter doesn’t state whether these people were donors to the foundation, employees, research participants, or what.
